VO2 max Hero reads VO₂ max, workouts, date of birth, biological sex, height and weight from Apple Health. It uses them to show your numbers, name the workout behind a reading and work out your Fitness Age. It never writes to Apple Health, and your workouts never leave your iPhone. We never use Health data for ads or marketing, never sell it, and never store it in iCloud.
Coach is part of Pro. It sends your data to a third-party AI service only after you tap Allow, and you can turn that off in Settings › AI and privacy. Turning it off stops future sending but can’t recall what was already sent.
When you ask Coach, the app sends your VO₂ max readings in the range you pick (with their dates and source), your age, sex, height and weight, your Fitness Age and percentile, and your question with the earlier messages of that conversation. If you reply to the Monday brief, the brief is sent too. It never sends your name, your Apple Account or your date of birth.
It goes to our own server, which runs on Cloudflare in the US. Our server passes it, without your app user ID or IP address, to OpenRouter (US), which sends it to Anthropic’s Claude model (US) to write the answer. If Anthropic is busy, the same Claude model may answer through Amazon Bedrock or Google Vertex AI (US).
Our server doesn’t keep what you send. OpenRouter doesn’t store it. Anthropic doesn’t use it for training and deletes it within 30 days, or keeps it up to 2 years only if its safety systems flag misuse. Coach has a fair-use limit, so it’s not unlimited. Coach gives general fitness guidance, not medical advice.
Versions before 2.0 sent the same kind of data for AI insights through our server and OpenRouter.
Your Coach conversations are kept on your iPhone and aren’t included in backups. You can delete them in Settings › AI and privacy. Deleting them doesn’t recall what was already sent to get an answer.
Your latest readings are copied to your widgets and to VO2 max Hero on your paired Apple Watch, so they can show them. That copy stays on your devices.
To count Coach limits, our server uses a random app user ID, or your IP address if there is none, until the limit resets. Its logs never keep your IP address. They keep only a short hashed form of the app user ID, for up to 7 days.
Purchases are processed by Apple. RevenueCat (US) tells the app and our server whether Pro is active, using a random app user ID and your purchase status. It never gets your Health data.
App Store builds send usage events, like tab taps and paywall steps, to Google through Firebase Analytics. They are linked to your random app user ID, so they are pseudonymous, not anonymous. They never include your readings or what you ask Coach. TestFlight and Debug builds send none. We don’t sell personal data.
TestFlight and App Store builds send crash reports to Google through Firebase Crashlytics: a stack trace, your device model, your OS version and an installation ID. They aren’t linked to your app user ID. Debug builds send none.
Version 2.0 and later show no ads. Earlier versions showed free users a banner ad served by Google AdMob.
Cloudflare (our server), OpenRouter and Anthropic, or Amazon or Google when they run Claude for Anthropic (Coach answers), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Google Firebase (analytics and crash reports) and Apple (payments). They are in the US, and they handle the data to provide their service to us.
You can withdraw consent for Coach at any time in Settings › AI and privacy, and delete your Coach history there too. Removing Health access in the Health app stops the app reading new data. To ask for access to, correction or deletion of other data, or to object, email a.negovskiy@gmail.com. We don’t know who you are, so we may ask for details that help us find your records. If you’re in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
The app isn’t meant for children under 16.
